   Day 1 · LehArrive in Leh

   Welcome to Ladakh (11,500 ft)! Our representative meets you at Leh airport and transfers you to your hotel. Rest completely today to acclimatise — drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and exertion. Light evening walk only if you feel well.

   Day 2 · LehLeh — acclimatisation & sightseeing

   A slow morning. In the afternoon, visit Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa at sunset and the Leh market for pashmina and prayer flags.

   Day 3 · LehSham valley

   Drive along the Indus: the Hall of Fame war museum, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill and the confluence (Sangam) of the Indus and Zanskar rivers. Visit Spituk monastery on the way back.

   Day 4 · NubraLeh → Nubra via Khardung La

   Drive over Khardung La (about 17,500 ft), one of the highest motorable passes, to the Nubra Valley (about 5 hours). Visit Diskit Monastery with its giant Maitreya Buddha, then ride double-humped Bactrian camels on the Hunder sand dunes at sunset.

   Day 5 · PangongNubra → Pangong Lake

   Drive to Pangong Lake via the Shyok river route (about 7 hours). Arrive at the 134 km-long lake at 14,000 ft, famous for changing colours from turquoise to deep blue. Overnight in a lakeside camp — nights are very cold, so keep warm layers ready.

   Day 6 · LehPangong → Leh via Chang La

   Sunrise over the lake, then drive back to Leh over Chang La pass (about 5 hours), stopping at Thiksey and Hemis monasteries. Farewell evening in Leh.

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out (standard check-out is 11 am; luggage can be stored if your flight is later). Flights from Leh usually leave in the morning. Transfer to Leh airport (IXL) in time for your onward flight, about 3 hours before international and 2 hours before domestic departures.
