   Day 1 · SrinagarArrive in Srinagar

   Welcome to Kashmir! Our driver meets you at Srinagar airport and transfers you to your hotel or houseboat. In the evening, a shikara ride on Dal Lake past the floating gardens and the lakeside market.

   Day 2 · SrinagarSrinagar Mughal gardens

   Visit the terraced Mughal gardens — Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh and Chashme Shahi — and Pari Mahal, with views over Dal Lake. In the afternoon, visit the Shankaracharya Temple on its hill and the Hazratbal shrine, then shop for pashmina, walnut wood and saffron.

   Day 3 · SrinagarSonamarg day trip

   Day trip to Sonamarg, the "meadow of gold" (about 2.5 hours), along the Sindh river. Ride a pony to the Thajiwas glacier (paid locally) and enjoy the snow even in early summer. Return to Srinagar in the evening.

   Day 4 · GulmargSrinagar → Gulmarg

   Drive to Gulmarg (about 2 hours), the meadow of flowers at 8,700 ft. Ride the Gulmarg Gondola — one of the highest cable cars in the world — to Kongdoori (phase 1) or Apharwat (phase 2) for snow views (tickets optional). Visit the St Mary's church and the golf course.

   Day 5 · PahalgamGulmarg → Pahalgam

   Drive to Pahalgam (about 4.5 hours) via the saffron fields of Pampore and the Avantipura temple ruins. Arrive in the "valley of shepherds" on the Lidder river and enjoy an evening walk by the water.

   Explore by local taxi (union rules apply, paid locally): Betaab Valley, Aru Valley and Chandanwari, the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra. Pony rides to Baisaran meadow are also available.

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out (standard check-out is 11 am; luggage can be stored if your flight is later). Transfer to Srinagar airport, about 3 hours from Pahalgam in time for your onward flight, about 3 hours before international and 2 hours before domestic departures.
